Mitatani Temple is a historic temple of the Koyasan Shingon sect located to the northwest of Hiroshima City. It was founded by Kobo Daishi in 809 AD.
Along the approach to the temple, there are waterfalls and numerous stone Buddhist statues. It is a place where you can feel the power and yet it exudes a serene and peaceful atmosphere.

The multi-tiered pagoda is designated as an Important Cultural Property.

In autumn, it is a famous spot for viewing beautiful autumn foliage.
