Sugi no Osugi is the largest cedar in Japan, said to be 3,000 years old, located in the precincts of Yasaka Shrine in Sugi, Otoyo-cho, Nagaoka-gun, Kochi Prefecture.
The large cedar tree is made up of two cedar trees called the Minami-Osugi and the Kita-Osugi, and because the two cedar trees are joined together at the base, it is also called the married couple cedar.

Minami-Osugi has a circumference of about 20 meters at the base and a tree height of about 60 meters, while Kita-Osugi has a circumference of about 16.5 meters at the base and a tree height of about 57 meters, and was designated as a special natural monument of the country in 1952. Ta.

It is said that Susanoo-no-Mikoto was planted in the great cedar tree in the age of myth.
