Oda Nobunaga built a castle in Azuchiyama on the east bank of Lake Biwa and the Azuchi-Momoyama period began, but now only stone walls remain.

It is also selected as one of the 100 best castles in Japan.
Although it is only Ishigaki, it is a popular spot, so the entrance fee is a rather high 700 yen.

At the nearby Azuchi Castle Tenshu Nobunaga no Yakata, the 5th and 6th floors of the original castle tower have been restored.
