This is an active volcano with an altitude of 1,583m located in Yufu City, Oita Prefecture. It is a beautiful mountain called Bungo Fuji.

Yufudake is also called ``Bungo Fuji'' because of its beautiful double-eared peak. Mount Yufu, which rises behind Yufuin Onsen, is a landmark of the hot spring town, and together with the cityscape of Yufuin, it creates a magnificent landscape.

Yufudake is also popular for mountain climbing and hiking. It takes about 3 hours and 30 minutes to climb from the Mt. Yufu trailhead to the summit. From the top of the mountain, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the cityscape of Yufuin, Beppu Bay, and the Kokonoe Mountain Range.

There are free and paid parking lots.
