Shindo Falls is located in Kokonoe Town, Kusu District, Oita Prefecture, and has been selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Waterfalls.
It is said that the name "Shindo no Taki" comes from the fact that when the amount of water in the waterfall is high, the surrounding area seems to vibrate. Ontaki has a large amount of water, and its force seems to vibrate the surrounding area, making it very impressive. Although it does not have a basin, it is a very beautiful waterfall. The view is particularly spectacular during the season of fresh greenery and autumn leaves.

The biggest attraction of Shindo Falls is that it can be seen from the Kokonoe “Yume” Suspension Bridge. Kokonoe "Yume" Suspension Bridge is the tallest pedestrian suspension bridge in Japan, with a length of 390m and a height of 173m. You can see the Ontaki and Female Falls of Shindo Falls from the front and enjoy the impressive scenery.
