Taiyuin is the mausoleum of Tokugawa Iemitsu, built by the fourth Tokugawa Ietsuna.
It is said that it was built under orders that should not surpass Toshogu Shrine, but it is a gorgeous building with many decorations.

Taiyu-in Temple, also known as the Golden Pavilion, is a gorgeous building. It is built in the Gongen-zukuri style, consisting of three buildings: the worship hall, the hall, and the main hall. The roof of the shrine has a dragon carved in gold leaf, giving it an air of majesty. The ceiling of the main room is painted with a picture of a cloud dragon, creating a fantastical atmosphere. The main shrine has walls and ceilings decorated with gold leaf, creating a solemn atmosphere.

Taiyu-in Temple enshrines Iemitsu's memorial tablets and belongings. You can also see a seated statue of Iemitsu and the ``hair mound'' where Iemitsu's hair was kept.
