The shrine's deity is Mt. Ishizuchi, one of Japan's Seven Sacred Mountains and the highest peak in western Japan, and its head office is located at the foot of the mountain.

There are four other shrines, Jojusha (Chugu) on the mountainside, Tsuchigoya Harukahaiden, and Summit Shrine at the top of the mountain, all of which are collectively known as Ishizuchi Shrine.

The main shrine is a wooden Sangensha style structure and has been designated as an important cultural property of the country. There is a garden opposite the main shrine, filled with seasonal flowers.
